Basic Physical Description – Flynn is rather tall, lithely muscled save for her arms, which are both well muscled from piloting (and the fact one is a machine). She has short cut blue hair that sticks out in all directions, seeming to defy gravity. She has large expressive blue eyes; they are most often cheerful like her disposition. Despite being on such a tropical planet, she is pale in color. Her right arm is always covered up, though there is a layer of synthetic flesh over it, it is often cool to the touch and the skin is semi-transparent in certain lights. She loves to perform and make people happy, but finds the most joy in the cockpit of Shai-Halude, her Scorpio.

Background Information

Flynn Angelina Masters was born Flynn Ann Albright on November 6th AC 196 at St. Lucy’s Hospital on L4, though within a 18 months had been moved to Mars with her family. Her parents, Jacob and Miranda Albright would have two more children after Flynn, Gabriel and Lucas, fraternal twins.

Flynn’s mother was a tall stature woman, blond Arian decent with a kind smile and is always pleasant to be around. She was the perfect hostess and many said the calming influence when compared to her often hot tempered husband. Jacob was a shroud businessman, charismatic and well liked by the people who worked for him. He stands scant centimeters over his wife, though his blue eyes give him a level of intimidation no body could ever give. Their occasional calm nature hides the calculating mind behind them. Originally born in Perth, Australia, he met his wife through mutual friends of their family and the two hit it off. They have been married for many years now. 3 Years after Flynn’s birth her brothers were born on May 25th, AC 199. Fraternal twins, Gabriel and Lucas, some of the first children born on Mars. Gabe is a kindhearted soul and generally enjoys machinery or being with his mother. He looks much like his mother, blond blue eyed and tall. Luc looks similar to his father, brown hair and dusty grey eyes. He enjoys the ideas of business and has decided to follow his Father’s example by taking over the company one day. He is the only neutral party in the group, choosing logic over emotions, unlike his brother. He enjoys chess, music and rugby, while Gabe prefers tinkering or riding skiffs on the dunes.

Flynn as a kid was energetic, intelligent and independent. Despite many attempts by her mother to curb her rebellious streak, even at a very young age, Flynn never really grew out of disobeying her parents. After her brothers were born, they were given a lot more attention, due to medical conditions in their early life. She asked her parents if she could attend public school, and though her father wanted her to stay home and learn from a tutor she desired to be like other kids and be with people her own age. With her mother’s influence, she was given her chance and made many friends as well as learning things she wouldn’t cooped up at home.

At 10 Flynn discovered music and has been attached to it ever since. She picked up the guitar quickly and had a good voice and feel for rhythm. Her mother enrolled her in various teaching programs and Flynn flourished. Years later her school friends formed a band called Star Scream and had a little following amongst the kids their age and the net. The band lasted until the junior year of high school.

At 17 Flynn was visiting one of the mining instillations with her father and brother Gabriel when an industrial accident happened. The three were on a catwalk over one of the pits and were being lead around when one of the mining charges went off further down in the pit. A fault line cracked open and sheared one of the walls of the cavern, sending the supports on the catwalk tumbling down. Flynn and Gabriel were on the wrong side of the gap opened in the wall. Flynn had grabbed her brother and threw him up higher on the section of catwalk then she was. He got a grip on a more secure section when the part he was on collapsed, and the section, the rock wall and Flynn went tumbling down to the pit bottom below. With the lessened gravity, it was not a horrible fall but still when she was dug out of the rubble, they were amazed to find her alive.

Extensive surgery was needed to keep her alive. Her skull had to be held together with metal plates; neurosurgeons did everything within their power to restore motor functions to her body and managed it very well thanks to new reconstructive technologies. Her right arm however had been severed in the fall, though only internally. The doctors were unable to save the limb. During her rehabilitation blood transfusions needed to be made. The doctors asked the family, being the most logical match and none of them could give, due to all having a different blood type that weren’t as receptive as hers. Behind his wife’s back Jacob asked them to perform a DNA comparison. Through out her life Flynn acted like her mother true, but never had she ever acted like her father, in fact there was little to no resemblance. The tests turned up to be completely different; no traces of Jacob’s DNA were found. Jacob confronted his wife and learned that she had been sleeping with another man just as she was trying to become pregnant. The twins were artificially inseminated. A rift began to form, while Flynn was in the hospital, between her and her father. To this day she has no idea who her true biological father is, nor does she seem to mind much.

Her mother paid, from her personal account, to have a bionic arm constructed for her, one that would respond to the neurological impulses from the brain. The procedures were long, painful and dangerous but a year and a half later, Flynn was a whole person again. Her right arm, several ribs, skull, pelvis and right shoulder; all had been augmented or fully replaced. Artificial neural nodes had been placed in spots along her spine to assist the artificial limb in relearning the movements and translating organic impulses to digital ones. In her convalescence Flynn had began to show an interest in space races, even began to do some research on piloting those machines. Part of her therapy had been relearning how to use her hand. Through some connections with friends, and besides relearning the guitar, Flynn got her hands on a simulator program including controls that could be used for racers, general ships and even mobile suits. It was a game true but it took no time for her to learn it and fall in love. Also during this time she was introduced to the Dune book series, which peaked her interest and as time went on she began to empathize with some of the characters and themes. Today it is likely to see a ragged copy of one of the books hanging out of a pocket.

After her 19th birthday she chose to legally disown herself from her family, change her name and become an independent person. After the arm replacement and discovering that she was indeed not her father’s daughter, Jacob and her became bitter towards one another. Not wanting to deal with the ramifications of being a child of a wealthy big business man, she chose to remove herself from the equation entirely. She could go and do what she wished without worrying about how her life would influence her family. The press core had a field day with the event locally, though after the announcement (which was leaked from the staff of the house) Flynn disappeared from the public eye for a time. She continues to keep in sporadic contact with her mother and brother Gabriel.

Flynn was recruited into the Mercenary Forces Centurion division, a group of privateers who hire themselves out to protect cargo ships, ferries and colony ships to and from destinations and jump points. They also were hired for protecting mining colonies and space stations. They were recruiting on Mars when Flynn decided to give it a go. Her initial tests were excellent, showing she had much potential and skill in piloting craft. She was placed under the command of Jean Trudeaux, who through both missions and training showed her the skills she now possesses. She went up the ranks over the next 5 years to Wing Commander of the Fremmen Squadron.

During her time with Jean he became like a second father to her, a person of great strength to look up to. His encouragement assisted in giving her both her abilities and confidence in her skills as a pilot. He is a fairly tall man, originally from France, and outwardly he shows little emotion but, you can tell exactly how he is feeling by looking into his cool grey eyes. Flynn often referrers to as ‘Papa’ when she talks about him. While on leave a few years into her service, Flynn got the chance to meet Jean’s partner, Sean Mori. His influence helped her become more of a cheerful person, despite the hardships of near constant battle. He encouraged her to continue with her music, doing things that made her happy and kept her sane. When she was troubled, she would turn to him often for a shoulder to cry on. Sean is short, due to his Japanese-American heritage. His smiles are infectious; his soft voice soothing and brown eyes can warm even the chilliest of hearts. People wonder how he and Jean got involved but the two are very happy. Flynn refers to him as Mum when around those she trusts, other wise he is Otosan, her second father. The three of them keep in contact to this day, and during the days of the MF, the two were her lifelines to keep stable in the changing times.

During her 5 years with the MF she learned combat piloting from many ex soldiers, Alliance, OZ and even White Fang. They all treated her like a little sister, though, they knew in a fight she was capable of taking care of herself. She was given the call sign Siren by her squadron because of her musical ability, sweet voice and deadly tactics when an enemy got too close. She has over 200 confirmed kills on her record and very few failed or botched missions over the course of her career. Many of the places she was stationed at were mining facilities and required working around a very small spot in the big black or on occasion asteroid fields. Part of her early training before induction involved many skirmishes in the Asteroid belt in both ships and modified space Leos. The Leo became her preferred weapon for stationary fighting and remains to this day one of her favorite craft. Other ships included smaller gun ships and speeders, which had a greater maneuverability then the Leos. She soaked up everything anyone had to teach her and was often the bane of mechanic’s existence by bringing back machinery that had been pushed past its limits and still performed in battle. Her hand-to-hand combat skills come from bar brawls and occasional training sessions. Most of her combat career is in the form of dogfights, ambush missions and space escort. She knows how to use a gun and is proficient with them. During her career as a merc she faced many of the crime syndicates and pirate groups in the universe on her protection runs. Occasionally they were paid to protect ships that belonged to Black Lotus, most times however they were hired to protect people and cargo from groups like them.

During her stationed time on Tania Australis, a large force of Crimson Sails, intent on taking the station, ambushed her squadron of 15 fighters and MS. During the first few hours of combat the invaders were pushed back, but it left only one pilot remaining in their wake, Siren in her Leo. Over the next week, they continued to try to take the station to no avail. Siren held them off until reinforcements arrived, cannibalizing enemy weapons from their MS suits, ambush tactics and dirty tricks to keep the pirates not only away from the station, but ill at ease to take on this one mercenary. She refers to this as the Week of Hell. After reinforcements arrived and found the station battered but still intact, she went out and cleaned up the bombs and surprises she left to make it safe for the rest of her companions. She is still loath to be left alone in combat due to this and was said to rarely ever leave the Leo save for fast repairs and refueling. Since the incident she considers it her duty to take out any Crimson Sails she meets in combat, to avenge her fallen brothers.

The news of the pilot who held off the Crimson Sails spread through the transport ships and MF and eventually reached the ears of Preventers and those with ties to the Black Lions. She was approached two weeks after the incident by Black Lions recruiters and agreed to take on the job on a few conditions. 1) a portion of her pay be sent to her adoptive parents, 2) that she start as green as the rest of the new people, if she got a rank she deserved it for working for them, not because of her past experience, and 3) any missions involving the Crimson Sails, she wanted to be in on it.

She began her work for the Lions in AC 220 as an ensign and has since risen to Wingman. She gained her rank after the ‘Red Sky’ mission. “The Crimson Sails were growing rapidly in number until 222, when the Black Lions and Preventers, in a joint effort, destroyed their three largest ships, killing their leaders in the process. This battle has come to be known as the "Red Sky Morning" or simply, "Red Sky." The group has refused to die out completely, however.” – BL official log on Crimson Sails. Flynn had taken part in the Red Sky Morning and had been amongst one of the teams responsible for the destruction of one of the command vessels. She had recognized it from previous skirmishes and never hesitated to take it down; with the assistance of other BL and Preventers pilots, the ship was taken.

Flynn is currently at base, spending time between training sessions and work in the Lounge playing music or coming up with new mixes for the jute box. Despite all the things that have happened to her in the past she continues to be a cheerful person, always willing to lend an ear to anyone in need. She keeps in touch with her second family on Yakumo Tatsu rather often and is notorious for being sent snacks from Sean, who loves to cook. She also keeps tabs on her old family on Mars, though recently she hasn't had the time.
